They differ in the ingredients that are present in them and according to the composition and percentage of various products that are present in the products. According to the skin type and the quality of the acnes, dermatologists prescribe products that are suited to the particular type of skin that the patient have. There are certain common ingredients that are present in the medicines that are helpful in treating acnes. The Benzoyl peroxide is probably the most important ingredient in the medicines of acnes. It also makes the skin sensitive to ultraviolet exposures. It is effective in reduction of excess oil from the skin surface. Salicylic acid is the ingredient that slows down the skin shedding inside the follicles thus preventing the clogging of the pores because of it. Sulfur and resorcinol are often found in the products together. It helps in the removal of dead cells and also removes excess oil. However, it may cause redness and peeling in some individuals after using the products. Alcohol and acetone are useful in removing dirt and dust from the skin surface.
