The target of acne products The target of acne products The hair follicles that are connected to the sebaceous glands secrets an oily substance by the name sebum that helps in the lubrication of hair and skin. The acne occurs because of the excess production of sebum and they are clogged along with the dead skin cells and forms soft plug like substances on the surface of the skin. The plug further aggravates and there is an increase accumulation of oil and dirt in the surface of the skin. Bacterial infections further trigger inflammation and irritation leading to the formation of acnes. Some of the over-the-counter products kill effectively the propionibacterium acnes that cause inflammation. Other acne products helps in the reduction of excess oils and speed up the formation of new skin cells and removes dead skins faster.
